Lt. Col. Jesse Galvez
Technical Services Division
Jesse Galvez began his career with the Department in February 1999. Lt. Colonel Galvez was assigned to the Highway Patrol’s District 6, Kearny/Oracle area. In 2001, Lt. Colonel Galvez remained in patrol and was assigned to the Phoenix metro area. In 2006, Lt. Colonel Galvez was promoted to Sergeant and remained in patrol, assigned to the night shift in Phoenix. As a Sergeant from 2007 until 2016, Lt. Colonel Galvez held assignments in the Criminal Investigations Division (CID), the GIITEM Gang Task Force, the Professional Standards Unit (Internal Affairs), the Special Investigations Unit, and the Agency Support Division. In 2016, Lt. Colonel Galvez was promoted to Captain and was assigned to the GIITEM Central District. In 2017, Lt. Colonel Galvez was assigned as the acting Major for the CID Intelligence Bureau and oversaw the operations of the Arizona Counter Terrorism Information Center (ACTIC), in October 2018, was assigned as the Commander of the Department’s Public Affairs Unit.
In December 2020, Lt. Colonel Galvez was promoted to the rank of Major and soon after became the Bureau Commander for the Highway Patrol’s Metro Patrol Bureau, the largest Bureau in the Department. In 2021, Lt. Colonel Galvez became the Chief of Staff for the Agency Support Division, where he was responsible for overseeing administrative support functions and supporting the work of the Division’s Assistant Director. By July 2023, Lt. Colonel Jesse Galvez was selected to serve as the Executive Officer for Colonel Jeff Glover and the Office of the Director. In this role, Lt. Colonel Galvez oversaw several critical units within the Department, including the Public Affairs Unit, Internal Affairs, and the Critical Incident Review Board. In January 2025, Lt. Colonel Galvez was promoted to his current rank and serves as the Assistant Director for the Technical Services Division.
In addition to graduating from the FBI National Academy, Lt. Colonel Galvez is a Flinn-Brown Fellow, a graduate of the Arizona Leaders Connect Program, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Arizona State University.
